Using The Default Model As A Template

Rather than just generating your first model as per the Cubix default settings, you may want to customise the model contents to suit your own specific requirements.

• Start Cubix
• From the Cubix ribbon in Excel, select Model Designer
• On the model designer main screen screen select New
• Enter a name and optional description for your model
  
• Enter a Designer Username. This is the username that will be used when editing and maintaining the model.
• Click Save. Your new model will appear listed on the screen.
• Hover over the model tile and from the right hand side, select Edit

• Type the Designer Username to log into the model

You can now review and edit each of the default model dimensions and sets and calculation rules in turn.

• Edit the Entity dimension to change the company and consolidation structure.
• Edit the Variable dimension to change the accounts and data items in the model.
• Edit the Product dimension to add a product or departmental analysis.
• Edit the Version dimension to add or change data versions.
• Edit the Time dimension to change the model’s time periods.
• Edit the Calculation Rules if needed.

*You can of course also edit the View dimension, add Currency Conversion and other Advanced options as needed. However, the dimensions mentioned above will cover many of the requirements for a fist time model set up. Please refer to the full user guide for help with advanced options and other features.
