Showing Next Mode

Cubix has three ways of viewing the values in the browser, known as modes (this is not the same as the Mode dimension). These are:

  • Data This shows you the actual value or result in the browser cells. If Auto Format is activated, the data cells will appear appropriately coloured.
  • Rule This mode shows you the Calculation Rule that applies to each cell as opposed to the value. This is similar to viewing a calculation’s formula in the Formula Bar or Edit Bar.
  • Text You may apply comments or text notes to any cells. Text mode displays the text associated with browser cells.

Double click in cell B10 to toggle through the three modes. Alternatively, select the option Data/Rule/Text in the Analysis group of the ribbon.

For example, Rule will show the name of the rule that applies in each cell for the current browser, such as in the following diagram:

Viewing Rule Text

If you are looking at the rule view in the browser and you want to know the actual contents of a rule, you can “drill-down” by Double-clicking on the rule name. This will open the Drill-down Through Rules dialog box.

When you have finished examining the rule, click OK to close the dialog box and return to the browser.

Refresh Browser

A browser shows the data at the time it was opened, created or changed. If it has been open for a while and other users may have been loading or changing data in Cubix, you may want to refresh your browser to ensure it is displaying the most up to date information.
In the Analysis group in the ribbon select Refresh Browser
