While the Browser has many benefits, its predefined layout makes custom management reports based on browsers limiting.

However, Cubix provides a number of Excel functions that can be used in any spreadsheet cell to help you create completely customised reports.

Comparing the Browser and Customised Reports

The browser provides an easy to manipulate way to view and enter your data. However, for management reporting purposes it does have some limitations. These include:

  • The browser’s layout is predefined and cannot be changed.
  • Whilst cell formatting can be applied, it is overwritten if the browser view is changed.
  • Additional Excel formulae and functionality can only be included on separate sheets or outside the browser data area.

Fulfilling your reporting requirements with the Cubix Excel functions, however, provides many advantages over the browser. These include:

  • Presentation. You may layout or arrange your reports in any fashion you wish, utilising your spreadsheet’s inherent formatting and graphing capabilities.
  • Once created, the same report may be used for each period it needs to be reported. You don’t need to re-create the report each time.
  • Additional Excel formulae, functions and controls can be added to the report.
  • Reports can be managed within the Cubix using the Report Manager so that core reports can be easily accessed by all users.
