By default, if Auto-Update or Auto-Calculate are selected as browser options, Cubix will re-calculate and if necessary re-consolidate data every time the browser is refreshed.

That calculation, however, is limited to only what is required to correctly display the browser. If, for example, your browser is only displaying one of a number of products, only calculations relating to that one product will be performed, until the browser view is changes such that a different product is displayed. You can, however, force a calculation of all data at anytime.

Calculate Data

On the Cubix menu click Calculate.

The selection window that opens allows you to choose which entities and which versions to calculate. All selected entities and versions will be checked and any requiring re-calculation will be processed.

If your browser is set not to Auto-Calculate, you can also force a re-calculation of the displayed data browser by double clicking on cell A9

Consolidate Data

The calculate option performs a full recalculation of all rules in the selected input and/or elimination entities. It does not have any impact on the consolidation level entities in the model. To update these, a separate calculation & consolidation must be performed.
As with calculate, a consolidate process will automatically take place if a browser includes a consolidated entity in its display and it detects that something has changed that will affect that consolidated data.

Click on the Consolidate button in the ribbon.

Notice that the consolidate window only shows the consolidation entities in the left hand pane. This process will also perform a recalculation of all underlying entities where Cubix has detected data changes since the last calculation.

Consolidation will be performed up to the level selected. If the top level entity is selected, the whole model, including sub-consolidations will be consolidated. If just a sub-consolidation entity is selected, only entities up to and including that level will be affected.
