Copy Version

Copy version is a simple feature in Cubix that enables data from one version to be copied directly into another version. It is particularly useful with forecast and scenario versions where it can be used to take data from a previous forecast into a new version as a starting position.

In the Data Transfer section of the menu ribbon select Copy Version

The Copy Version window has three panes.

The left hand pane lists all the input type entities. Select which entities you wish to copy data for. Use a right click to select all entities

The middle pane lists all the versions. This is where you select the version you wish to copy data from. Select the one you want.

The right hand pane lists all the available versions that you can copy data into. Select the one you want.

!Whilst you can copy data from any version, you can only copy into Forecast type versions. You cannot copy into Actual or History type versions. This is to maintain the integrity of Actual and Historic data.

Click OK to start the copy process. This may take several minutes to complete, depending on the size of the model. You will see a progress bar as the process runs.

!If the target version is locked for any or all of the entities, then that data will not be copied. To be certain that the copy will complete successfully, you might want to unlock the target version first.
