Drill Down

Browsers support drill down from calculated or consolidated value to the underlying input level values.

A value in a consolidated entity, such as a Company Total entity, comes from the consolidation of a number of underlying entities. A double click in a browser on any consolidated value will open a Drill Down window showing the values from all the underlying entities that make up the total.

Similarly, a double click on a calculated value will open a Drill Down window showing the underlying values that make up the calculated result.

With a Drill Down window open, you can select any of the rows and click OK to have the browser refreshed to show the data of the selected item.

Drill Across and Drill Up

Using the ‘Display hierarchy by:’ selection, it is possible to drill across the model to see the same selected data item, by any chosen dimension.

For example, having drilled down from the Management Consolidation total and selected France as the item of particular interest, changing to Display hierarchy by Version will display the selected data item alongside the same item from the other versions in the model.

When viewing Drill Down data by entity, it is possible to navigate back up through the hierarchy by selecting the appropriate Path (if there is more than one) and clicking on the Parent button.
