Editing Data

The Browser link to the data in the Cubix model is a two way connection. As well as viewing the data already in the model, browsers can be used to edit and submit data into Cubix. There are certain restrictions and controls applied to data entry. It is governed according to some or all of the following:

• Data Locking. Combinations of Entity and Versions can be locked, preventing any changes to data.
• Protection. Any entity and version data can be temporarily protected by a user to prevent other users making any changes. (Usually applied for short term use only).
• Calculated Cells. It is not possible to enter data into cells which contain a calculation rule.
• Consolidated Data. It is not possible to enter data into consolidated entities.

If you attempt to edit values during one of the above circumstances, an error message similar to this will be displayed:

This message indicates that you may not edit the browser while in Base Currency view. In this situation, you would need to change the browser currency view to Local Currency before editing values.
