Each Season Branches and Clubs are required to perform a number of Start of Season and End of Season tasks.

Seasons:

All Branches (excl. NQB):
Mid September to beginning May (subject to individual Patrol Service Agreements)

North Queensland Branch:
End of March to beginning of December (subject to individual Patrol Service Agreements)

Governance and Compliance

You must complete the annual ACNC reporting requirements post your AGM each year. This includes :

  • Uploading financial documents/information
  • Updating responsible persons
  • Finalising the ACNC information statement

You DO have to report to the Office of Fair Trading the following:

  • Change in office bearers’ names.
  • Change in office bearer’s address.
  • Change in club address (including mailing)
    This form can be accessed via OFT Form 10 – Change of Details

You DO need to lodge any change to your constitution to the Office of Fair Trading.
Once they have confirmed the change and approved your rules, these rules MUST be uploaded to the ACNC.

ANNUAL REPORTS

  • All annual reports are to be tabled at the respective Club and Branch Annual General Meeting.
  • Once these have been accepted at the meeting, copies must be sent to the following entities
    • Your Branch Office
    • Surf Life Saving Queensland
    • Surf Life Saving Australia
    • QLD State Library – Acquisitions Branch
  • All copies are to be electronic and in PDF format
  • This is to be labelled ‘ABC SLSC Annual Report YYYY”
    • SLSQ will forward a copy to SLSA and QLD State Library on your behalf.

AFFILIATION STATEMENT

Clubs are to complete the Statement of Affiliation – SLSQ will send a link via the ‘End of Season Circular’ at the end of each season.
Branches are to complete the Statement of Affiliation – SLSQ will send a link via the ‘End of Season Circular’ at the end of each season.

Deductible Gift Receipt Number (Included in affiliation form)

  • From 14 December 2021, non-government DGRs are required to be a registered charity, except for ancillary funds or DGRs that are specifically listed in tax law. For more information, see DGRs required to be a registered charity.
