Surfguard reporting produces mainly what is called ‘raw data’, that is, the data that has been collected directly from a primary source of data (Surfguard) that is not processed or filtered by anyone.
The first step is to collect the data from the primary source of data, Surfguard General Reports or Custom Reports. When the data is gathered/downloaded, it can be filtered and summarised in various forms.

A useful tool in Excel to turn raw data into meaningful data is the Pivot Table Function.
