The Personal Accident policy will respond to certain costs when WorkCover benefits do not apply.

Currently, members 14 years and older are protected by WorkCover Queensland for injuries incurred as part of approved club activities. Marsh has no involvement with Workers Compensation insurance in Queensland.

If Workers Compensation does not apply to an injury incurred by a member or volunteer, the insurance policy will respond to 100% of any medical expenses incurred that does not attract a Medicare benefit. Commonwealth legislation prevents the insurer from responding to any costs associated with Medicare, including the Medicare gap that may apply following a doctor’s consultation or other medical service.

Additional benefits are also payable in the event of injury that results in permanent disability – these are referred to as “Capital Benefits”.
