SLSQ highly recommend maintaining all gear and equipment that a club owns, to ensure its longevity. More often than not, items will deteriorate with exposure to the salt air over the course of the patrolling season, causing rust etc. that could have the potential to cause an injury.

A part of maintaining gear and equipment, is keeping an updated list of the items in Surfguard so that both SLSQ and SLSA have a record of what each club’s assets. SLSQ conducts two gear and equipment audits a gear and use the information listed in Surfguard to form part of what clubs need and the priority for certain equipment to be replaced.
