Change types are used to group changes together. Pureservice offers a set of predefined types that you can manage. In addition, you can add new, rename, enable/disable, delete and set default type.

Add new type

To add a new type, enter a name in the input field at the bottom of the list and press enter.

Rename type

Click on the name of the type you want to edit, and rename it.

Enable / disable type

It is possible to deactivate/disable a type without removing it completely from the help desk. Simply press “Off” to do so. To activate/enable the type again, press “On” . Disabling a type already in use by a change will not remove the change’s type. Disabling a type only restricts new changes from using it.

The background colours of the buttons indicate whether a type is enabled or disabled. If a type is enabled, the background colour of the “On” button is green. If a type is disabled, the background colour of the “Off” button is dark grey.

Use the “Hide disabled/Show disabled” button to get a sorted view of the active types.

Default type

Pureservice is set up with Normal as the default change type. All new changes will be registered with the default type unless an agent opts the type during the registration process. Press the “Default” button to change default type.

Delete type

Press to delete a type permanently. Removing a type already in use by a change will not remove that change’s type. Removing a type only restricts new changes from using it.

You cannot delete the default type.
