Asset imports are the managed imports of assets from external sources. To set up a new import you will need a file with the correct field names. Both comma and semicolon can be used as an delimiter.

How to add new import

1. To create a new import click Add in the top right corner, give the import a name and specify which asset type it should be

2. The next step is where you link the .csv-file to the import. This step is just for reading the field names and creating the fields

3. The final step is where you map the fields from the asset type together with the fields from the .csv-file

You can choose to Create values, Don’t import or Set Value. Mouseover the info icon (i) for more information.

When choosing Set value, you will see already existing values in the dropdown list.

To successfully relate an asset to a company or a user, the company name or username needs to match already existing ones in Pureservice.

4. When you’ve finished mapping the fields you need, click Save

If you need to configure an existing asset import, you can do this by clicking the Edit icon

Run an import

To run an import expand the import window by clicking on the import button. Then select the .CSV file. The import will then start running.

After the import is finished running, you will see the status and can click on “logs” for more information.

General Settings

You can change the name of the import here in addition to audit who and when it was created and modified the last time.

Asset type

You can not change the asset type of an import after it’s created. If you need to change the asset type you need to remove the existing import and create a new for the new asset type.
You can however change which status newly imported assets should have.
