The Accountable user of the object with a Change Request is responsible for assigning the object’s Author. The Author will be in charge of implementing the changes in EPC.
Authors can be assigned by:
- System & Environment Admins
- Modelers with at least Write permission on the object or environment
- Admin groups with the environment assigned to the group
There are two methods to access the ‘Assign Author’ form:

- Click on the arrow button to open the Edit Toolbar menu.
- Select “Assign Author”.
2. From the Object’s Collaboration Section

- Click on the ellipsis button, at the top right.
- A drop-down list will appear.

Viewing Assigned Author(s) & Remove an Author:

Important Things to Note:
- Roles/resources that are accountable on an object’s parent are set as Authors by default on flow objects with no Authors. Note that they don’t have to be assigned as Accountable on the objects for this to apply. Once an Author is set on a flow object, the application will override the parent Author and remove them as Author automatically.
- Authors will receive an “Object to Review” notification when each of the draft (in progress) versions are created so that they are notified if changes are made by someone else, e.g., from the synchronization from external sources (Parser, mass import, etc.) or when a new process is linked to that of the Author, which could impact their process (upstream, downstream).
