Users have the flexibility to create their own customizable templates for generating Process Books, Object Books, or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This empowers them to include only the necessary information and tailor templates to different formats and purposes.

The EPC utilizes the Docxtemplater library for SOP generation within the web application. For documentation and how-to guides, users can refer to the Docxtemplater library. Note that the EPC does not use the commercial version of Docxtemplater.

Note: Templates are environment locked, meaning users cannot use or see templates uploaded into an environment of which they are not a part.

Creating a Template

To create a template for custom document generation, Microsoft Office Word is required, as templates must be uploaded in the EPC as .docx files.

For detailed information on how template tags work and how to include them, refer to the Template Tags documentation.

Uploading a Template

Once the template has been created, it can be uploaded into the EPC similarly to other documents. Follow the steps below:

  1. Create a new Document object.
  2. Ensure the document type is set to “template” for identification purposes.
  3. Optionally, select the module(s) to which the template applies to.
  4. Drag and drop the file or click on the “Choose” button to select the document.
  5. Click on the “Add & Close” button do create the template.
  6. Upon successful upload, users can utilize the uploaded template for object book generation.
