Overview
Kramer Control has a few different Brain options and this article is to explain the suggestions on what to install per space type. If you choose not to follow these suggestions, stability with the Brain could be an issue.
Brain types
- SL-240C
- SL-280
- KC-Brainware 5
- KC-Brainware 25
- KC-Brainware 50
Devices and Graphical Interfaces per Brain type
Brain Type | “#” of Controlled Devices | “#” of Graphical Devices |
---|---|---|
SL-240C | 15 | 2 |
SL-280 | 15 | 2 |
KC-Brainware 5 | 20 | 2 |
KC-Brainware 25 | 20 | 2 |
KC-Brainware 50 | 20 | 2 |
KT-107 & KT-1010 | 5 | 1 |
The above numbers are best practices. The Builder will not prevent you from adding more than the numbers listed above to your programming.
Controlled device types
The current SL hardware and Brain (version 2.8.0) has some known issues when controlling the following equipment
- KNX
- DMX solutions
- Large DSP installations
- X32 Behringer
- BSS Blu-100
- Yamaha MTX
- Zoom Rooms with large contact list (more than 1000)
If you need to control one of the above equipment options, we have seen the best results when using the KC-Brainware line of hardware.
Space Types
Small Conference room with local equipment
This space would work well with a SL-240C or SL-280 depending on the installed equipment.
Divisible Rooms & Very Large installations
These spaces should use KC-Brainware 5 units. The divisible rooms can be split to be controlled by multiple Brains within the KC-Brainware 5 unit, or could be programmed as one large space and a single Brain on the same hardware
