How to: Use SL Internal Clock without NTP Server

Overview

When a Brain is installed in Offline Mode but you still need to execute commands based on time of day follow the steps below to make sure your installation works properly.

Note This process requires a Publish to the Brain, the Brain will need to be Online to accept this Publish. Once the Publish is finished, WAN connection can be removed and Offline mode can be used.

Process

Within Manager identify the physical address where the Brain has been installed and Save

Within configuration page of SL select Device Settings

• The configuration page is found by entering the IP address of the SL into the URL section of your favorite browser
  

Within Device Settings you will need to perform the following functions

• Disable the Use of Time Server (NTP)
• Enter the current Device Date and Time of the location where the SL unit is installed
• Select the proper Time Zone where the SL unit is installed
  

After the above changes are made you will need to Save those changes within the configuration page
NOTE If the Save fails you may need to adjust the Device Name of the SL to include one less hypen “-” then attempt the Save again

Once the changes within the SL have been made, return to the Kramer Control Builder and Publish in order for the Brain to get the latest changes.
