Allow bulk produced invoice proposals to be (optionally) be grouped by project

Overview

Previously, when using the “Create project Invoice Proposals” functionality, invoice proposals were grouped exclusively by project contract. This resulted in a single invoice proposal being generated for multiple projects. Users will now be able to generate invoice proposals by project.

With this release, we introduce a new option that allows users to choose how invoice proposals are grouped:

• By Contract (existing behavior)
• By project (new behavior)

This feature provides greater flexibility in managing periodic invoice proposals based on your specific business requirements.

Note: This feature applies only to time and material projects.

This feature is controlled by a new feature, (evergreen) Group periodic invoice proposal by project, to manage the activation and deactivation of the functionality.

Configuration Options:

In the Create project Invoice Proposals dialog box, a new subgroup named “Group proposal by” has been introduced. This subgroup includes the following configurable options:

Go to MMA > Periodic > project Invoices > Create project Invoice Proposals

1. Group proposal by:
   • project Contract: Maintains the existing behavior where invoice proposals are grouped by contract (default value).
     Help Text: Enables grouping of invoice proposals by project contract.
   • project: Groups invoice proposals by individual project, overriding the contract-based grouping.
     Help Text: Enables grouping of invoice proposals by project.
2. Include Subprojects:

   Groups subprojects with their parent project within a single invoice proposal. This option is only enabled when project is selected in “Group proposal by”.

   Help Text: Groups the subprojects with the parent projects within one invoice proposal.

Example Scenarios

Contract: 00001

Projects:

• 12345
• 12346
• 12347 (Subprojects: 12347.1, 12347.2)
• 12348

Results Based on Selections:

• If “project” is selected: 6 invoice proposals will be created (one for each project/subproject).
• If “Include Subprojects” is also selected: 4 invoice proposals will be created, grouping each project with its subprojects.
