Overview
The undertakings feature has been improved by adding new views that provide easier access to upcoming and overdue undertakings. Additionally, fee earners now have direct access to the undertakings they are responsible for.
New views introduced
- All overdue undertakings
- All upcoming undertakings
- My overdue undertakings
- My upcoming undertakings
Note: To use these views, the feature “(evergreen) Project/Matter undertakings” must be enabled in Feature Management.
Configuration
A new parameter has been introduced to define what is considered an upcoming undertaking.
To configure this parameter:
- Navigate to Project/Matter Management and Accounting > Setup > Project/Matter Management and Accounting Parameters.
- Select the Journals tab.
- Locate the new parameter “Show upcoming undertaking due in” and set the number of days before the discharge date at which an undertaking will be classified as upcoming.
How it works
Navigate to Project/Matter Management and Accounting > Undertakings to access the new views.
The new views provide different filtering options:
- Overdue undertakings: Lists undertakings that have not been discharged and have a discharge date in the past.
- Upcoming undertakings: Lists undertakings that have not been discharged but have a discharge date within the number of days configured in the parameter.
- My overdue undertakings: Filters overdue undertakings where the active user is the assigned fee earner.
- My upcoming undertakings: Filters upcoming undertakings where the active user is the assigned fee earner.
This enhancement helps improve efficiency and visibility by allowing users to track their undertakings more effectively.
