Viewports are the link between a Mix and a physical output and are created in Output Manager
There are two types of Viewports in Hippotizer: 2D and 3D.
2D Viewport
The 2D Viewport is used where a two-dimensional Workflow is preferred. This does not require a 3D model and is commonly used for:
- Led Walls
- Projection onto a flat or curved surface
- Projection mapping where no 3D model is available.
- Flat Displays (such as TVs)
- Pixelmapping
SHAPE 3D Viewport
The SHAPE 3D Viewport utilises a three-dimensional representation of the environment to manage the outputs. The 3D environment must be configured in the SHAPE application and requires a 3D model to be either imported into or drawn inside SHAPE. A 3D workflow frequently is used for:
- Projection Mapping with a 3D model
- Perspective mapping complex display setups (such as LED walls)
- Tracking Dynamic displays
Viewports and System Load
Each Viewport adds significant load to the Hippotizer system; minimising the number of viewports is a good way to increase system performance.
