HippoNet Advanced is a Diagnostic tool for the pin tree

HippoNet Advanced is primarily used as a development tool for Green Hippo.

Unlike other pin tree views, HippoNet Advanced does not filter what is shown; all pins are displayed.

Hosts and Components

Displays all hosts and components on the network. Some hosts (such as Zookeeper) will contain meaningless information.

Details

All pins and pin groups within the selected host or component.

Pin Info

Many pins contain data that is passed along with the pin value throughout HippoNet. This is known as Pin Info. The information is shown for the selected pin if it exists.

Pin info determines what information is shown in the Zookeeper interface, including the pin default.

Hide Flags

Some pins are hidden as they are not useful to the user. There are several different filters that a pin can have to hide it from certain views and components, these are known as Hide Flags. The flags include:

  • ePHFNone Not hidden
  • ePHFDMX Hides from the DMX component’s pin selector for personality creation
  • ePHFTimeline Hides from timeline so tracks are not created for these pins
  • ePHFGUI Hides it from the standard HippoNet view.

Class Tree

Shows how the Pin Class is derived from it’s parent group pin.

Hovering over the GUID symbol will display the Pinclass Globally Unique ID (GUID).
