Governance refers to the framework of policies, procedures, and practices that are put in place to guide the decision-making, accountability, and oversight of your club/branch. It involves the processes by which your club or branch is directed, controlled, and managed to ensure that it operates in a way that is ethical, responsible, and in the best interests of its stakeholders

Good governance practices help to promote transparency, accountability, and integrity in your club/branch. Effective governance can also help to prevent unethical or illegal behaviour, reduce the risk of financial loss or reputational damage, and improves the overall performance.
Governance is more than policies, procedures and defined positions. It requires vital relationship building from members through each area of club (sport, nippers, club management, etc) to enable a working collective and for the benefit of the club. Individual responsibilities will always be supporting the progression of their club to strive for better governance.
