The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) Annual Information Statement (AIS) is a report that registered charities in Australia are required to submit to the ACNC each year.
The AIS collects information about the charity’s activities, finances, and governance over the past financial year, and provides transparency to stakeholders about the charity’s operations.

The information required in the AIS includes:

  • Details of the charity’s activities.
  • Financial information, including revenue, expenses, and assets.
  • Governance information, such as details of the charity’s Management Committee conflicts of interest, and policies and procedures.

The AIS must be submitted within six months of the end of the charity’s financial year, and failure to submit the AIS on time can result in penalties and the revocation of the charity’s registration with the ACNC.

The ACNC uses the information provided in the AIS to maintain a public register of charities, and to assess the charity’s compliance with the ACNC’s governance standards. The AIS is also used by the ACNC to provide information to other government agencies, stakeholders, and the public.
