All software navigation is done through the use of the RazorPlan toolbar. The toolbar is only visible from within an open client file and will allow you to enter data, calculate values and print reports.

Home Page: This will return you to the RazorPlan Home Page. From here you can start a New Client, Open an existing client or launch the Fact Finder. You can also select many of the support resources from Resource Center.

Save: You are able to save a file at any time by clicking the button. The software will also automatically save a client file after each calculation or when navigating to a new location.

Reports: This will allow you to generate and print a Client Report using the currently open client file. These reports will be created as PDF documents and can then be saved and printed, or emailed to a client. Reports can be printed at any time while working within a client file.

Share: This will allow an advisor to share a file with another advisor who uses the software. Sharing is set indivdually in each file, but can be turned off for all files by accessing the global settings under ‘Your Account – Personal Information’

Data Entry: The Data Entry screen is a client friendly data entry process composed of up to 5 Steps, covering 30+ sections. Each section focuses on an individual aspect of client data and includes a help section for assistance. In addition to the data entry, you can also enter Planning Notes specific to the individual section.

Drill-Down Grid: The Drill-Down Grid is a collection of all Drill-Down windows from all data entry points. This section contains all entered Drill-Down information, and can be adjusted directly from this area, without navigating to the individual data entry step.

Notes: The Planning Notes Screen will display all client notes entered through Data Entry. Each note will include a heading displaying the location where that note is entered.

Chart: The Chart Screen contains 5 charts outlining the calculated results of the client data; Cash Flow, Financial Assets, Income Tax, Risk Management and Retirement Options. Also included is a Data Panel containing key client information. This allows you to alter or optimize client data to see how the changes will affect all aspects of the analysis.

Excess: The Excess Cash Flow screen displays a detailed break down of the clients’ Pre-Retirement Cash Flow. This area identifies where income has been allocated and if there is any excess cash flow. Use this button to navigate to the Excess Cash Flow Management Tool which allows the allocation of excess cash flow. (Note: The Excess button is only displayed in RazorPlan Advanced. You can upgrade to RazorPlan Advanced using the Billing tab in Your Account. If you have any questions, please contact support.)

Decumulation: The Decumulation module displays the optimal strategy for decumulating investment assets in the retirement years. This area has multiple screens that can be viewed including an Overview, Results, Retirement Options, Strategies and Details. (Note: The Decumulation button is only displayed in RazorPlan with Decumulation. You can upgrade to RazorPlan with Decumulation by contacting the support team at support@razorplan.com.)

Ledger: The Ledger Screen is a collection of data from every year of the analysis. This section contains a large amount of data and may not be client friendly. Use the Ledger Screen when looking for more detailed information or to verify where a value originates.

Recommendations: Recommendations allows you to specify individual recommendations to apply to the client file. There are 6 different recommendations categories; Financial Management, Asset Management, Risk Management, Tax Planning, Retirement Planning and Estate Planning. Recommendations can be added and printed with the Client Report.

Applications: Applications are a group of Calculators and Concepts designed to answer client questions and demonstrate planning ideas. The Applications screen allows you to select to open an existing Application or load any available Applications.
