Data exported from an insurance company’s illustration software program can be imported into RazorPlan. Not all data exported needs to be imported; RazorPlan allows the data needed by the program to be mapped to the appropriate fields.

To import data from an insurance company’s projection software, select Import Data as the Illustration Type; two additional data entry fields are displayed on the Permanent Insurance screen.

Insurance Company: Select the name of the insurance company that data is being imported from.

Select File: Click the Select File button to open a window where the exported insurance data file can be selected.

Current Inv Value: Enter the current investment balance (if any) of the policy being imported.

Current ACB; Enter the current adjusted cost base (if any) of the policy being imported.

After selecting a file for import, click the button. To cancel importing insurance data click the button. After clicking the button, RazorPlan displays the Import Insurance Data screen, which is used to map the importing of the data from the spreadsheet.

There are five data entry fields to map to the data being imported. Select the appropriate column heading letter from each of the five the drop downs to indicate how the data should be mapped.

Annual Premium: Map to the column that displays the annual premium values.

Client Benefit: Select the column that displays the death benefits payable in the event of the client’s death.

Spouse Benefit: Select the column that displays the death benefits payable in the event of the spouse’s death.

CSV: Map to the column that displays the cash surrender value of the policy.

ACB: Select the column that displays the adjusted cost base of the policy.

Once all five areas are mapped click the button. To cancel importing insurance data from this screen click the button.
