19. Volunteering

INTENT

The intent of the Volunteering Indicator is to facilitate and support self-determined volunteering for all employees.

METRICS

Level 1

  1. Organization has a written policy on volunteering.

Level 2

  1. Organization has a written policy on volunteering.
  2. Organization provides eight hours of paid volunteer time per year per full-time employee at organizations of the employee’s choice.
  3. Organization tracks total volunteer hours used across all employees.

Level 3

  1. Organization has a written policy on volunteering.
  2. Organization provides 16 hours of paid volunteer time per year per full-time employee at organizations of the employee’s choice.
  3. Organization tracks total volunteer hours used across all employees.

Level 4

  1. Organization has a written policy on volunteering.
  2. Organization provides 24 hours of paid volunteer time per year per full-time employee at organizations of the employee’s choice.
  3. Organization tracks total volunteer hours used across all employees.
