Just® is a program for people who want to make changes within their organizations. It focuses on employee experience, health, well-being, and meaningful community connections. It uplifts the understanding that it is people who make up businesses and communities and that people are the core of creating a living future.

Just is a voluntary disclosure tool and framework for reflection, evaluation, communication, and continuous improvement that helps organizations address social justice and equity throughout all aspects of their policies, practices, and culture. Just provides a platform for organizations to demonstrate their commitment to social justice, the health and well-being of their employees and their families, and the vitality of the communities they serve and in which they operate. While many organizational and corporate initiatives focus on environmental and economic concerns, Just provides a framework for businesses, organizations, and institutions to meaningfully and transparently address social justice and equity from within.

Just organizations act to eliminate biases and disparities and establish systems to support both continuous improvement and an inclusive work environment that permeates all levels of the organization. Through Just, organizations publicly commit to creating equitable and healthy workplaces; examining their existing systems, culture, and practices; and taking measurable steps to improve performance over time. It is for all organizations—from those that are taking the first steps to formalize their commitment to equity, to those that have already put policies into motion and are taking concrete action toward demonstrated impact and improvement.

An organization’s Just label is a snapshot of the organization’s performance at the time of publication. Living Future intends for the Just program to be a tool for organizations to use in their long-term journey toward holistically embodying social justice and equity. We encourage organizations to see their first label as a benchmark of where they are and to use the Just program to create a roadmap for where they want to go within each of the Indicators. We advocate for organizations to routinely reassess the relevance and impact of their policies, programs, and actions in order to understand what is working well and where changes can be made to increase the social justice and equity benefits for their employees and communities. Our recommendation is for organizations to maintain the currency of their Just labels by renewing them every two years.
