INTENT

The intent of the Racial and Ethnic Diversity Indicator is to create and maintain racially and ethnically diverse workplaces.

METRICS

Level 1

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a racially and ethnically diverse workforce.

Level 2

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a racially and ethnically diverse workforce.
  2. Where the racial and ethnic minority population of the region is determined to be X percent:
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s overall workforce represent at least 50% of the value X.
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s senior leadership team represent at least 40% of the value X.

Level 3

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a racially and ethnically diverse workforce.
  2. Where the racial and ethnic minority population of the region is determined to be X percent:
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s overall workforce represent at least 75% of the value X.
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s senior leadership team represent at least 60% of the value X.
  3. Organization advocates for and takes action toward greater racial and ethnic diversity within its industry.

Level 4

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a racially and ethnically diverse workforce.
  2. Where the racial and ethnic minority population of the region is determined to be X percent:
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s overall workforce represent at least 100% of the value X.
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s senior leadership team represent at least 80% of the value X.
  3. Organization advocates for and takes action toward greater racial and ethnic diversity within its industry.

ALTERNATIVE COMPLIANCE PATH – Qualified Business

Level 2

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a racially and ethnically diverse workforce.
  2. Organization is a minority-owned business enterprise (MBE) or a business achieving Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification on the basis of being owned by a member of a racial or ethnic minority.

Level 3

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a racially and ethnically diverse workforce.
  2. Organization is an MBE or a business achieving DBE certification on the basis of being owned by a member of a racial or ethnic minority.
  3. Where the racial and ethnic minority population of the region is determined to be X percent:
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s overall workforce represent at least 50% of the value X.
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s senior leadership team represent at least 40% of the value X.
  4. Organization advocates for and takes action toward greater racial and ethnic diversity within its industry.

Level 4

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a racially and ethnically diverse workforce.
  2. Organization is an MBE or business achieving DBE certification on the basis of being owned by a member of a racial or ethnic minority.
  3. Where the racial and ethnic minority population of the region is determined to be X percent:
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s overall workforce represent at least 75% of the value X.
    • Members of a racial or ethnic minority group within the organization’s senior leadership team represent at least 60% of the value X.
  4. Organization advocates for and takes action toward greater racial and ethnic diversity within its industry.
