INTENT
The intent of the Family and Medical Leave Indicator is to facilitate employees’ ability to care for themselves, care for family members, and fulfill parental responsibilities through the use of employer-provided paid family and medical leave programs.
METRICS
Level 1
- Organization has a written policy on family and medical leave.
Level 2
- Organization has a written policy on family and medical leave.
- Organization provides at least six weeks of paid leave for any employee welcoming a child through birth, adoption, or foster placement as well as for dealing with a health condition of their own or of a family member.
- Organization has a policy allowing for flexible work arrangements.
Level 3
- Organization has a written policy on family and medical leave.
- Organization provides at least 12 weeks of paid leave for any employee welcoming a child through birth, adoption, or foster placement as well as for dealing with a health condition of their own or a family member.
- Organization has a policy allowing for flexible work arrangements.
Level 4
- Organization has a written policy on family and medical leave.
- Organization provides at least 24 weeks of paid leave for any employee welcoming a child through birth, adoption, or foster placement as well as for dealing with a health condition of their own or a family member.
- Organization has a policy allowing for flexible work arrangements.
