EMPLOYEE INPUT

Beyond providing an employer match, other means of soliciting employee input could include, but are not limited to:

  • Holding an open call for employee suggestions of charitable donation recipients; and
  • Providing a shortlist of charitable donation recipients for employees to select from.

EMPLOYER MATCH

Employer matching of employee donations can (and should) count these matched contributions toward their total donation percentages. Employer matching can also serve as a means of employee selection of where to direct the organization’s charitable gifts as long as all employees are eligible to have the organization match their contributions.

IN-KIND SERVICE DONATIONS

For the purposes of Just, not all volunteer work qualifies as in-kind services. In-kind donations of services must be performed by professionals within their respective fields, differentiating these services from general volunteer activities.

Pro bono services, such as board participation, may be accounted for as either in-kind service contributions in this Indicator or pro bono services in the Volunteering Indicator, but not both.

REPORTING PERIOD

For the purposes of this Indicator, calculations should be made based on the organization’s most recently completed fiscal year.

ROUNDING

For the purposes of this Indicator, the percentages of gross revenue or net operating income donated annually must be reported as is (i.e., out to two decimal places) and cannot be rounded.
