INTENT

The intent of the Gender Diversity Indicator is to create and maintain gender-diverse workplaces that include historically underrepresented genders, including people who identify as women, transgender, and/or nonbinary.

METRICS

Level 1

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a gender-diverse workforce.

Level 2

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a gender-diverse workforce.
  2. People who identify as women, transgender, or nonbinary comprise:
    • At least 30% of the organization’s overall workforce.
    • At least 24% of the organization’s senior leadership team.

Level 3

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a gender-diverse workforce.
  2. People who identify as women, transgender, or nonbinary comprise:
    • At least 40% of the organization’s overall workforce.
    • At least 32% of the organization’s senior leadership team.
  3. Organization advocates for and takes action toward greater gender diversity within its industry.

Level 4

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a gender-diverse workforce.
  2. People who identify as women, transgender, or nonbinary comprise:
    • At least 50% of the organization’s overall workforce.
    • At least 40% of the organization’s senior leadership team.
  3. Organization advocates for and takes action toward greater gender diversity within its industry.

ALTERNATIVE COMPLIANCE PATH – Qualified Business

Level 2

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a gender-diverse workforce.
  2. Organization is a women-owned business enterprise (WBE), a business meeting LGBT Business Enterprise (LGBTBE) certification requirements on the basis of being owned by someone who is gender-diverse, a gender non-conforming-owned business, or a business achieving DBE certification on the basis of being women-owned.

Level 3

  1. Organization has a written policy that includes commitment to a gender-diverse workforce.
  2. Organization is a WBE, a business meeting LGBTBE certification requirements on the basis of being owned by someone who is gender-diverse, a gender non-conforming-owned business, or a business achieving DBE certification on the basis of being women-owned.
  3. People who identify as women, transgender, or nonbinary comprise:
    • At least 30% of the organization’s overall workforce.
    • At least 24% of the organization’s senior leadership team.
  4. Organization advocates for and takes action toward greater gender diversity within its industry.
