This tab allows users to define the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) for the process being analyzed, specifying the maximum acceptable downtime and data loss.
*
Recovery Time Objective (RTO):
- The RTO is the maximum amount of time your applications and systems can be down before restoration is required.
- It answers the question: “How long can we afford to be offline?” Depending on the criticality of the process, this could range from zero downtime to several days.
Recovery Point Objective (RPO):
- The RPO is the maximum amount of data loss that’s acceptable if systems supporting the process fail.
- It answers the question: “How much data can we afford to lose?” This could range from no data loss to a few seconds, hours, or even days, depending on the process and available recovery methods.
*For guidance on common form functions, please refer to the dedicated section in the manual.
