We have implemented updates to improve the classification and organization of action items. These changes enhance alignment with operational plans, while also ensuring that standalone actions are accurately categorized for more effective execution.

Key Enhancements:

  1. Renaming of the ‘Category’ Module

To better align with disaster management practices and enhance action item classification, the Category module in the BCM Settings, along with Category dropdown in the New Action Item form, has been renamed to Disaster Threat Vectors.

  1. Addition of Dropdowns for Action Item Classification

The New Action Item form now includes two mandatory dropdowns for better categorization:

  • Type: This dropdown classifies actions into one of three types, based on key components of operational planning:
    • Business Continuity (BC): Actions to sustain critical operations during and after a disruption.
    • Disaster Recovery (DR): Actions to restore critical systems, infrastructure, and resources after a disaster.
    • Crisis Management (CM): Actions for immediate, high-priority responses to a critical event.

  • Category of Action: This dropdown adjusts dynamically based on the selected Type and categorizes actions for further clarity:
    • Response Strategy: Actions to mitigate disruption impact and stabilize operations.
    • Recovery Strategy: Actions to restore normal operations after managing a disruption.
    • Other: Actions that do not fit standard strategies but are still critical.
