We have introduced a new module in the BCM application, located under the Settings category, called the Responsibilities & Tasks List. This feature aims to streamline task delegation and enhance the management of critical contact groups.

Feature Overview:

  1. Responsibility Assignment Framework

Users can now assign responsibility for managing contact groups to specific individuals or roles. The contact groups include:

  • Emergency Contacts
  • Key Supplier and Customer Contacts
  • External Emergency Contacts
  • Regulatory Contacts

Responsibilities can be assigned to contact groups using a two-tiered approach:

  • Per Site (Mandatory): Assign responsibilities to contact groups based on location site.
  • Per Department (Optional): For added granularity, assign responsibilities based on organizational structure:
    • Business Division
    • Business Line


  1. Task Assignment Logic

A. Automated Task Assignment

  • When a responsibility is assigned to a contact group, any tasks triggered for that group in the application will be automatically directed to the designated individual or role.

B. Default Behavior for Unassigned Groups

  • If no responsibility is assigned to a contact group, no tasks will be triggered for that group.

Benefits:

  • Targeted Task Assignment: Tasks are automatically assigned to the appropriate individuals or roles based on predefined responsibilities, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Streamlined Operations: Automating task delegation lightens the BCM administrator’s workload, enhancing operational efficiency while ensuring the effective management of critical contact groups.
