Scrigno PMS is a cloud solution, with a centralized Oracle database at a datacenter in Italy and uses a hosted formula that offers high levels of security on the provision of the service.

By hosting we mean a service inside a remote machine, called host: in essence, you can use a server on the Web, not physically present in the structure, so that the contents are accessible through the Internet.

However, for various reasons, Scrigno may not be usable and therefore some sort of BLACKOUT of the system may occur. The connection to the datacenter may be temporarily down. In this case the Scrigno service cannot be provided.

Or the problem could be caused by a lack of local network connectivity in the Hotel. In this last case the problem could be circumvented by using alternative connection sources to reach the datacenter: tethering from mobile phones, connections with mobile routers, etc etc.

In the event that the PMS on the Web-Server is not reachable in any way, the Local Check-Out function may be useful, to have at hand the procedures in house, those arriving and those in check-out.

This procedure allows you to have a reduced functionality of Scrigno. The program is physically installed on a single machine located at the front office that will use it and which temporarily replaces the Web-Server in case of BLACKOUT.

In everyday life, being LOCAL, it aligns and feeds itself in conditions of present connectivity with the data present on the Web-Server. So in the event of a long-term connection failure, the practices are not updated making the application unusable. Any changes made to the data that reside only in LOCAL will be aligned with the situation of the datacenter as soon as the connection is restored.

By launching the Checkout_Locale.exe program, a check is performed on the actual connection BLACKOUT.

If this does not exist, the following message appears: the program cannot be opened.

The program will behave the same way even in case of fluctuating or discontinuous connectivity.
