The third chapter of the manual is about booking, in all its possible modalities.

In addressing some of the aspects of a reservation, we will necessarily deal with some issues that are inherently ‘alien’ to the sale of a room per se, yet still relevant to the Booking Office, which is usually willing to prepare all the information needed to speed up the activity of colleagues at the reception, in particular what concerns the check-in and check-out operations.

Consider the fact that, from the booking process, the users could activate, at their discretion, numerous automations to be realised in the following stages, which the procedure will be subjected to, such as:

  • report video warnings to the colleague who will check in
  • attach the advances already paid to the accounts of incoming guests
  • set up automatic discounts on certain categories of services
  • set up extra charges for services other than the room requested by the guest when booking
  • enter all the information needed by the departments for effective operational management

It is therefore preferable whoever inserts the procedure is aware of the consequences of his/her work, and knows many aspects and functionalities possible among the active ones, in order to increase efficiency and create the best conditions for the management of the Guest.

To better deal with this large chapter, we will adopt the following subdivision:

  • Individual reservations,
  • Group booking
  • Functions common to both.
