The Enter Test Results button can be used by a Tester via the Actions options on the far right of the screen. It is also possible to select multiple options and perform Enter Test Results via Actions menu that appears at the bottom of the screen.

The Test Results screen will need to be populated as part of this test signoff process.

The Tester can indicate whether the testing was successful via the ‘Testing Results’ dropdown menu, add additional comments and also upload or URL link attachments containing any test evidence or other information.

When the Test Results screen is presented on screen, if there is only one Transport Form sitting in the Test Queue, it will be prepopulated in the [Transports For Approval] dropdown. Otherwise, the Tester needs to manually select the Transport(s) they are signing off.

  • ‘Save and Close’ button can be used to save the results of the testing – but leave the changes sitting in the Test Queue. This option is typically only used if testing is not yet completed.
  • ‘Save and Approve Testing’ button should used to perform the test signoff – ie when testing is successfully completed and the Tester wants the change to move onto the next point in the ActiveControl workflow.

One of the most common user-error mistakes amongst new users of ActiveControl is in the use of the ‘Save and Close’ button. If you have completed testing successfully, you should use the ‘Save and Approve Testing’ button. Depending on your implementation of ActiveControl, your Administrator may have hidden the ‘Save and Close’ button via Feature Deactivation to avoid confusion.
