Related Business Tasks

It is possible to set Dependencies at a Transport Form level when you need to set technical dependencies between individual transports.

It is also possible to set Relationships at a Business Task level, for the scenario where there might not be a specific technical dependency, but where the Customer wanted to ensure that certain SAP changes moved at the same time. This was added as part of ActiveControl 8.50

Relating Business Tasks indicates that this particular Business Task is dependent on the Business Task that you add, ie that other related Business Task should be approved/imported before or at the same time as this particular Business Task.

As of ActiveControl 9.10, it is also possible to add Business Task dependencies. Unlike related business tasks, dependencies will be factored into the calculated import sequence in an Import Queue.

If BT1 is made dependent on BT2, then ALL of the transports in BT2 will be calculated to be imported before any transports in BT2.

This functionality was added at the request of one of Basis Technologies’ customers. For other customers that do not want to use this feature, it can be hidden by Administrators via Feature Deactivation. When Business Task Dependencies is switched off via Feature Deactivation – any previously set BT dependencies will NOT be taken into account of the import sequencing.
