External narrative extension on timesheets

Introduction

This preview release enhancement increases the character limit for external comments in timesheet entries from 255 characters to 1000 characters. The enhancement also enables extended time comments to be viewed and edited in an invoice proposal. Once an invoice proposal is posted, the extended time comments will be visible on the invoice lines screen as well.

Posted Transactions

The character limit for posted transactions has been extended from 255 characters to 1000 characters. This allows for more comprehensive and detailed information to be included in the narrative of transactions.

Invoice proposals

A new button called “Update narrative” has been added to the invoice proposal screen. This button allows users to modify the time transaction narrative up to the new maximum of 1000 characters. When this update is made in an invoice proposal, the change will be included in the invoice itself.

Invoice report

An invoice line that has an extended narrative will be displayed in the details section of the invoice document, as follows:

Note that the space occupied by the narrative will be as much as is needed to display the narrative (rather than being fixed at 1000 characters).
