Overview
To improve the delegation and tracking of undertakings, a new functionality has been introduced. This enhancement allows fee earners to delegate the responsibility of managing undertakings to another user, such as an associate or legal director, while ensuring full visibility and accountability for both roles.
Key benefits:
- A new non-mandatory field “Managed by” has been added to the Undertakings entity.
- This field allows fee earners to designate another person responsible for managing the undertaking.
- Fee earners can efficiently track the undertakings.
How it works:
My undertakings view
Both the fee earner and the “Managed by” user will be able to independently view the same undertaking in the My undertakings screen.
Example:
A (Fee earner) and B (Managed by) will each see the shared undertaking in their respective views.
Upcoming / Overdue undertakings
The same principle applies for Upcoming and Overdue undertakings:
The fee earner and Managed by user can both view and track their associated undertakings in the Upcoming and Overdue tabs.
Data entity update
The “Managed by” field has been incorporated into the existing Undertakings data entity, ensuring consistency in data structure and reporting capabilities.
