How to use Auto-dimension

  • From the dimension ribbon, or the quick access, click on the function Auto dimension.
  • The selected folder and all subfolders are automatically dimensioned.

Note: You can activate auto dimensioning on an individual folder, the entire room, or the construction project at any time, including during a measurement. You just need to be positioned in the desired folder.

To remove all dimensions

  • The Auto-dimensions can be removed by clicking on Remove Autodims button from the dimension ribbon, or the quick access.

Autodimensions with options

  • Click on the Autodimensions with options button from the drop-down menu in the ‘Auto dimension’ button on the dimension ribbon.
  • Several options can be adjusted from this window.
Length dimensions
  • Length dimensions:
Enables or disables the creation of automatic length dimensions. If unchecked, no length dimensions will be added.
  • Only dimension closed contours:
When enabled, dimensions will only be applied to shapes that form a closed loop (e.g., rectangles, polygons, circles). If unchecked, open lines can also be dimensioned.
  • Only dimension lines of this length range:
Let’s you limit automatic dimensions to objects within a specific length range.
    • Minimum: The smallest length (in inches) to be considered for automatic dimensioning.
    • Maximum: The largest length to be considered.
  • Smart dimensions for closed contours:
    • Include radius in length dimensions:
Ensures that if the contour includes arcs or rounded corners, their radius is also dimensioned.
Choose the style that will be used for length dimensions.
Angle dimensions
  • Create angular dimensions:
Enables automatic dimensioning of angles between intersecting lines.
Choose the style that will be used specifically for angular dimensions.
Radial dimensions
  • Arcs:
Automatically applies radial dimensions to arcs.
  • Circles:
Automatically applies diameter or radius dimensions to circles.
Define the formatting style for radial dimensions.
