As a general contractor or construction manager, your responsibility is to coordinate the work. It is not to invent information and not to coordinate the design. When a problem surfaces, it has become common practice to criticize the contractor for failure to coordinate. The irony is that much more often it is actually the process of coordination that discovered other problems with the design in the first place. The word is used to abuse, and the contractor must be sensitive to such efforts to distort responsibility.
