Also known as a Construction Quality Control Plan (CQCP), the formulation and implementation of a Company Quality Control/Quality Assurance Program will vary according to the size, staffing, and sophistication of the general contractor. But whatever the case, there needs to be an appointment of a Program Manager. This manager, once the program is developed and explained to all field and office personnel, will be the individual responsible for the functioning and monitoring of the program in much the same way that the Safety Director implements and monitors the company’s safety program. The CQCP Manager may elect to appoint several deputies to carry out specific portions of the program or may place primary field responsibility with each project superintendent, reporting directly to the CQCP Manager or to his or her respective project managers.
