Design-Build is basically a different project-delivery system that requires the formation of a design-build team to provide an owner with both design and construction in one contract, such as lump sum, GMP, and CM, as well as some specific new forms specifically designed for the design-build process. Because Design-Build involves a somewhat new concept, some institutional changes, and additional legal and licensing considerations, Section 7, Design-Build Project Administration, is devoted solely to describing this process.
