3.2.5 Timers

The Timers view displays the current user’s list of timers. This page allows users to start, stop, manage, and record timers easily.

Search Functionality

At the top of the page is a free text search box. Users can use this to filter the timer list based on keywords or comments.

Timer Row Actions

Each timer row has the following action icons available:

  • Start/Stop Icon: Toggles the timer based on its current state. Timers (if not pinned) can only be restarted if they were created on the same day.
  • Pin Icon: Keeps the timer on the list after being recorded to the timesheet. The timer resets to zero and optionally resets the narrative (based on user settings).
  • Tick Icon: Moves the timer entry to the user’s timesheet.
  • Pen Icon: Edit the selected timer.
  • Bin Icon: Delete the timer.

Expanded Row View

Each row can be expanded using the arrow icon on the left. Expanding the row reveals the comment associated with the timer.

Timer Sessions

Clicking on a timer row opens the associated timer sessions, which track every start and stop of the timer. This history allows users to see how their time was broken down throughout the day.

Timer Session Actions

  • Bin Icon: Delete a specific timer session.

To the left of each session row is a checkbox, allowing the user to selectively choose which sessions to move to the timesheet. This is useful if a session was created by mistake and should be excluded.

Move to Timesheet

In the top-right corner of the timer sessions page is a Move to Timesheet button. Clicking this will open the Create Time Entry form with the selected sessions pre-populated.
