3.1.1 Approvals – Logic Apps to Function App

In previous versions of Pulse approvals, Azure Logic Apps were used to route approvals to the web app. In this release, a technical change has been implemented to use Azure Functions instead. This change is expected to bring several benefits:

• Simplified Deployment: Deploying Logic Apps was identified as one of the more complex parts of Empower app deployment. Moving to Azure Functions simplifies this process.
• Faster Approval Routing: Logic Apps introduced a delay before approvals appeared in Pulse. Azure Functions are expected to reduce or eliminate this delay.
• Lower Azure Consumption Costs: Azure Functions are expected to be more cost-efficient, potentially reducing overall Azure consumption costs.
