3.1 Clients

As described in the Progressive Web Application section, Empower Time is a PWA and supports a variety of clients. The available clients in this release are:

• Desktop via web browser
• Desktop installed as a PWA
• Tablet installed as a PWA
• Mobile installed as a PWA

3.1.1 Desktop

The desktop client uses a traditional web application approach, accessed through a web browser (Microsoft Edge or Chrome are supported). The application runs within the browser window. Users must ensure popups are enabled for the app URL to support login functionality.

Minimum supported resolution: 1280 × 720

In the top right corner of the application, there is an “Install empower time app?” button. Clicking this installs the PWA version to the desktop. This is described in the next section.

3.1.2 Desktop (PWA)

When installed, Empower Time appears as a dedicated application with an icon in the desktop taskbar. It runs in a standalone PWA window without browser chrome (address bar, bookmarks, etc.).

Clicking the icon (represented by an orange time icon) opens the application.

3.1.3 Tablet (PWA)

Empower Time is accessible on tablets through a responsive layout optimized for reduced screen sizes. It can be used in the browser or installed as a PWA via the orange install button in the browser.

Minimum supported resolution: 1366 × 1024

Note: Only landscape orientation is supported in this release.

Installing the PWA provides a full-screen experience with a home screen icon for easy access.

3.1.4 Mobile (PWA)

Empower Time is also supported on mobile. The mobile client is a streamlined version of the app, focusing on key functionality such as time entry and timers. It does not replicate the full desktop experience.

Users can access it via the mobile browser or install it as a PWA. Installation is recommended for a full-screen experience with a home screen icon.

Installation Instructions:

• Android: Tap the orange install button in the top right corner of the browser version.
• iPhone:
  • Open Empower Time in Safari
  • Tap the Share icon
  • Select Add to Home Screen
  • Tap Add
  
  

This adds the Empower Time icon to the mobile home screen. Tapping it opens the app in the PWA client.
