Certain states, such as NY, require an employer to post a Workplace Violence Prevention Policy Statement in a conspicuous location where employee notices are normally posted. The policy statement can be a one-page document that briefly summaries the employer’s commitment to staff safety and health, the WVPP goals and objections, how to report an incident and specifically to whom and the process the employer will use to ensure employee participation in the program. A sample Workplace Violence Prevention Policy Statement is contained in Appendix 1 of these guidelines.
