Inheritance is a feature within MyCSF that allows maturity level scores associated with specific requirements to be transferred, or “inherited”, from previously scored assessment objects. Maturity scores that originated from an “inheritable” assessment owned by the same or other third-party HITRUST-Certified organization can be automatically imported and scored into an “inheriting” assessment .
Inheritance is available from assessment objects internal to an organization, or externally from HITRUST-certified third-party service providers. Understanding the type (internal or external) and level (partial or full) of inheritance is determined by the HITRUST Assessment type and/or scoping factors. For more information, refer to the HITRUST Assessment Handbook Chapter 12.2: “Reliance on Assessment Results Using Control Inheritance” and Appendix A-12: “Inheritance FAQs & Examples”.
