Implement Sensor parameter is used to configure the installation of an inductive sensor that identifies implement lifting position – whether it is lowered or raised. This type of sensor is commonly used in sowing implements, due to the fact that the implement plants the seed in the path only when lowered. When identifying the implement sensor in the state Down, the GeoNave system automatically turn on the trail, without the need for any action by the user. And, in the same way, when detecting the implement in the state Lifted up, the trail is automatically turned off.

The possible values for Implement Sensor parameter are shown in the table below.

Value Description
Disabled The implement sensor is not connected to the GeoNave system, and its function is disabled.
Enabled – CX-8 The implement sensor is functional and connected to the CX-8 connector on the rear face of GeoNave display.
Enabled – CX-9 The implement sensor is functional and connected to the CX-9 connector on the rear face of GeoNave display.

Depending on the value of the Implement Sensor parameter, the configuration screen assumes different lines number.

  • Disabled – Only the line Implement Sensor is shown, as detailed in the following image.

  • Enabled – CX-8 or Enabled CX-9 – In addition to Implement Sensor line, Sensor Assembly and Sensor Status lines are displayed, as shown in the image below.

The Sensor Assembly subparameter is a configuration used to inform the GeoNave system of the detection logic for the inductive sensor. For Normal assembly, the implement is considered as Lowered when the inductive sensor identifies some metallic surface. For the Inverted assembly, logic goes in the opposite way.

To access Sensor Assembly subparameter screen, select the item on the Implement Sensor screen and press the edit button , as shown in the image below.

Sensor Assembly subparameter screen is then displayed, as shown in the following image.

The third line of Implement Sensor parameter screen represents the inductive sensor reading state, depending on the chosen assembly. The following table shows the Sensor State value according to the detection of the metallic surface by the inductive sensor and the sensor assembly configuration.

Sensor Mount Detected metal surface Sensor State
Normal No Lifted up
Normal Yes Lowered
Inverted No Lowered
Inverted Yes Lifted up
